The words of truth are always paradoxical.
— Lao Tzu
On the eve of a New Year, I stand poised to reclaim, reunite, resurrect, reinvent, restore & more—to reinvigorate the muse of the moon.
From the onset, 2025 unleashed a torrent of demons, duplicitous actions, cocktails of corruption, and whorls of climate destruction. Prison doors sprung wide for predators and slam-dam shut for prey. Humanitarian aid cut for the aidless, and medical breakthroughs stalled or unraveled. The underserved disregarded as undeserved. Pure evil dripped unchecked—blotching spots and leeching greed around the world. Peace a skillful illusion. Meanwhile AI now guides your cursor like an uninvited guest who overstays and underplays and dabbles with your privacy. The undoing of freedom sneaks up like an underhanded coward from behind. Beware the underbelly of 2025.
Great art is the outward expression of an inner life in the artist, and this inner life will result in his personal vision of the world.
—Edward Hopper
Still (but not still), in spite of the despicable & morally reprehensible elements of this year, moments of brilliance, invention, imagination, heroism & resilience quietly glistened. Elegant truths formulated & undulated amidst the chaos of hypocrisy and toxic blather—refusing to surrender.
If like me, you’re ready to shed the demonic detritus of 2025, you might consider more creative options in the New Year. More verbs, more flow, more sensory detail—more blue greens, more long starry nights. More art—less AI. Less mandates—more vision. More meaningful intentions. More spontaneity.
In your inner life, will you realize & energize? Will you fend or forgive—or a blend—but stay true?
In the external world, will there be a reckoning?
Will you go boldly into 2026? Seeking more—not less. Will you question & investigate? Will you allow your intuition to absorb the moonlight? Will you reclaim what you lost—expand what you find—reach for the unknown? Divine a more spirited path?
At midnight, let’s unveil a vibrant New Year—fueled by passion, integrity & creativity. With a touch of the wild!
In 2026, what would you be willing to do?

Thank you, as always, for your thoughtful posts!
So beautifully written! I couldn’t have said it better myself and I align with everything in this. Let’s hope for a creative, transformative, hopeful 2026! And most importantly as you so profoundly said “more art, less AI”
I love the rhyming-ness of your writing . . . rhymes sometimes soft and simple, sometimes complex, sometimes alliterative, sometimes words that sound notes of going togetherness . . . musical and rhythmical and well, just beautiful, as is the meaning and content. A pleasure to read.
Thoughtful – here’s to art, creativity, embracing integrity — and contemplating my intuition absorbing the moonlight. Cool!
The rhythm and flow pulled me in. The reality of what has been happening can’t, and won’t, be ignored but your words give us a glide path towards sanity. Thank you.
