A-Z & Beyond

Writing is trying to know beforehand what one would write if one wrote, which one never knows until afterward.
— Marguerite Duras

A
lpha Beta—Greek for a mere set of letters (+ an ampersand)
Beginnings so humble ‘til names emerge like Delta & Omicron
Calibrated—twice spliced with malignant mutations
Deadly transmissions—lit by duplicitous misinformation
E (the most used letter) easy to end—with triple Vax
Facts & fair play—not foul
Glory in giving & receiving to tinsel
Holidays with hallelujahs
Illuminations iced with alchemy & glittering inventions 4
Joy!
Karma & koans & keepers of
Love &
Metaphors & music—melding into a
Nocturnal
Oasis of offerings—divined by the occult
Paradoxically, I prefer cues from the indigo primal
Quests fueled by silky questions to
Reckon with romance & the resourceful—relentless
Synesthesia & bodily syntax synapsing with
Tricks & tats all inked & linked & flexed
Undercover—hovering to be discovered
Valiant, well-versed & versatile—
Wily & windswept & wild—while
Xenas & xenagogues crimson a brew with plenty of xyris 4
Year’s end ‘21 draws nigh at midnight of 31—as
Z (the least used letter) twinkles & stars as last word—Zyzzva.

Cheers for the holidays—& beyond!

  1. Read and reread this several times, discovering more each time. A perfect summary for the end of a year spun off its axis.
    Wishing you happy holidays.

  2. Hi Martha,
Quiet, uneventful Christmas here in California but new adventures coming in 2022! Can we meet in a park some day?? Dorothy
